Three drivers and three officials have been kidnapped, according to Arch. Yerima Saleh, the Commissioner of Works in Borno State.
According to the Commissioner, the rebels also took two heavy duty vehicles and one Toyota Hilux vehicle.
Six officials working on a road construction project were seized by suspected Boko Haram militants, according to the Commissioner. The rebels kidnapped three drivers and three other officials.
” In addition, two trucks and a Toyota Hilux vehicle were taken away. “We went to express our condolences to the families of those who were kidnapped,” Yerima explained.
The Commission stated that this is the first time in the last two years that Boko Haram terrorists had assaulted and kidnapped its officials while working on the Damboa – Chibok – Mbalala road.
The tragedy occurred just a few kilometers from Chibok, where Boko Haram terrorists abducted nearly 200 schoolgirls in April 2014. Insurgents ambushed and killed Brig. General Dzarma Zirkusu and several soldiers two weeks ago within Chibok Local Government Area.
