Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, has taken disciplinary action against 78 students for various academic and behavioral issues.
The university announced that 31 students have been expelled, while 47 others have been placed on indefinite suspension.
Among those expelled is Ojo Michael, a second-year Computer Science student, who was removed for the entire 2023/2024 academic year after being found guilty of falsifying his Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) to fraudulently qualify for the Student Union elections.
Additionally, 17 students were expelled for examination malpractice, five for issuing threats, and one for fraudulent activities.
The university’s Examination Malpractice and Students’ Disciplinary Committee conducted thorough investigations before recommending these actions.
The statement from TASUED emphasized that students guilty of misconduct would face strict consequences in line with the institution’s regulations.
The university also instructed the suspended students to stay off-campus to avoid potential conflicts with security personnel.
TASUED’s Senate reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining academic discipline and integrity, warning that any student involved in misconduct would face severe penalties according to the university’s rules
