POLICE special constabularies in Oyo state recruited in 2020 have again appealed to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbe-tokun,and the governor of the state,Seyi Makinde, to intervene over the non-payment of their salaries since they were recruited.
Speaking on Monday on behalf of the group, Oyo State General number 1, Batch B,Taofeef Akinpelu, alongside Oyo State General number 1,Batch A, Adewale Adegoke, called on the IGP to intervene in their situation. Akinpelu called on the IGP to help and appeal to President Bola Tinubu over the challenges being faced by the group, especially in the area of non-payment of salaries.
While seeking the support of the Oyo State governor, the group said although they were recruited by the Federal Government, “we, however, seek the intervention of the state government, through Governor Seyi Makinde, because we are indegenes of the state.
“Things have not been easy for our members as we have been working for three years now without salary.”
