A Nigerian man, has reportedly arrested his girlfriend for aborting their unborn child without informing him. The lady who was pregnant of his child aborted the baby , this didn’t seat well with the man who arrested his girlfriend.

The story which was shared by the man’s friend in a thread on Twitter, stated that his friend’s girlfriend was impregnated by him, the lady however aborted the baby without his consent.

His friend was infuriated by his girlfriend’s action and got her arrested. He added that abortion without the consent of the father of the child is punishable under law.

His words:

“My friend arrested his girlfriend for doing abortion without his approval. I just got to know that an abortion without the owner of the pregnancy (The Man) consent is punishable under law. So ladies when ever you think of commiting abortion, make sure you seek for your boyfriend or husband approval if not you might see yourself in jail. Both the doctor and the family of the girl are currently pleading for forgiveness but my friend is yet to say anything”.

Abortion is not legal in Nigeria, and there is no abortion right except where the health of the mother is in danger.

This means there is no law in Nigeria that gives preference for abortion with consent of the father.
