Spotify celebrated the 10th anniversary of Wizkid’s hit song “Ojuelegba” by featuring him on billboards all over the world.
They wanted to tell just one story — the story of a little boy who grew up in a small home on the streets of Ojuelegba in Lagos, Nigeria. His mother named him Ayodeji, meaning “Double Joy,” because she believed it was destined that her only son would bring joy to the family. Time has proven that his mother was right.. That little boy has lived up to her expectations, becoming the greatest African musician of all time.
The entire world now has a story to tell about African music, thanks to the incredible contributions of that small boy who once lived in a home that was often flooded.
His name is now written in history with a golden pen, a legacy that even time cannot erase.
There is no better way to celebrate Wizkid than through the song that meant so much to him.
“Ojuelegba” gave every African hustler the motivation to keep striving, so they too could one day tell their own story — just as Spotify is doing for Wizkid today.
