Justice for Christianah: “Let’s redefine masculinity by holding each other accountable” – Adekunle Gold addresses men

In the wake of the murder of Christiana Idowu, an Ogun State University student, Nigerian singer Adekunle Gold has addressed men.

We reported that the deceased was abducted by suspected kidnappers along the Ikorodu-Yaba road, Lagos State, on Monday, August 19, 2024, where she was observing her industrial training. A family source speaking to media outlets said the abductors had demanded a ransom of N3 million before they could release her. However, after several pleas, they accepted N350,000, which was sent to their account, but refused to free Tianah.

Following the death of Christiana, Adekunle Gold, via the micro-blogging platform Twitter now known as X, in his message to his gender noted how true strength isn’t about staying silent but about standing up to your friends who abuse, rape or demean women.

He urged them to redefine masculinity by holding each other accountable.

“Men, true strength is not about staying silent but about standing up to your friends who abuse, rape, or demean women. Let’s redefine masculinity by holding each other accountable.
